July 6—Joshua 24:1-31; Acts 13:1-12
Pastor
Josh 24–”I gave you land on which you hadn’t toiled and cities which you hadn’t built.”
Acts 13–”Will you never stop twisting the straight ways of the Lord into crooked paths?”

Joshua – “Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness.
Acts – 12 When the proconsul saw what had happened, he believed, for he was amazed at the teaching about the Lord.

Josh 24:14 Now fear the Lord and serve him with all faithfulness…
Acts 13:4 The two of them, sent on their way by the Holy Spirit…

July 5—Joshua 23:1-16; Acts 12:1-25

Josh 23–”You know with all your heart and being that not a single one of all the good things that the Lord your God had promised about you has failed.”
Acts 12–While Peter was held in prison, the church offered earnest prayer to God for him.

Joshua – “Be very strong; be careful to obey all that is written in the Book of the Law of Moses, without turning aside to the right or to the left.
Acts – the church was earnestly praying to God for him.
Sharon
Josh 23:3 You yourselves have seen everything the Lord your God has done …for your sake; it was the Lord your God who fought for you.
Acts 12:5 …but the church was earnestly praying to God for him.

July 4—Joshua 10:1-25; Acts 11:19-30

Josh 10–”Don’t be afraid of them. I have given them into your power.”
Acts 11–When he arrived and saw evidence of God’s grace, he was overjoyed and encouraged everyone to remain fully committed to the Lord.

Joshua – the Lord hurled large hailstones down on them, and more of them died from the hail than were killed by the swords of the Israelites.
Acts – The disciples were called Christians first at Antioch.

Josh 10:8 Do not be afraid of them.
Acts 11:29 The disciples, each according to his ability, decided to provide help for the brothers living in Judea.

July 3—Joshua 8:1-28; Acts 11:1-18

Josh 8–”Act according to the Lord’s word.”
Acts 11–”When I began to speak, the Holy Spirit fell in them, just as the Spirit fell on us in the beginning.”

Joshua – But they took the king of Ai alive and brought him to Joshua.
Acts – Nothing impure or unclean has ever entered my mouth.

Josh 8:1 “Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged…”
Acts 11:9 …’Do not call anything impure that God has made clean’

July 2—Joshua 7:1-26; Acts 10:34-48

Josh 7–Then the hearts of the people melted and turned to water.
Acts 10–you know about Jesus of Nazareth, whom God anointed with the Holy Spirit and endowed with power.Carl

Joshua – I will not be with you anymore unless you destroy whatever among you is devoted to destruction.
Acts – he Holy Spirit came on all who heard the message.

Acts – Now we are all here in the presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has commanded you to tell us.”

Josh 5–The manna stopped on that next day, when they ate food produced in the land.
Acts 10–”Your prayers and your compassionate acts are like a memorial offering to God.”
