11 Jun What are you looking at?
Look around, what goes through your mind as you see those around you. We are conditioned to compare ourselves to others. We compare our homes, cars, clothing, hair styles, body shape and size. Why do we do this, as if one ounce of comparison will make a different? Theodore Roosevelt said, “Comparison is the thief of joy”. I don’t know about you, but I can use all the Joy I can get. Satan is a liar and a thief, he’ll feed us lies about how we look and our standing in our social groups and culture and steals the joy we have with who we are. Each of us has been created by God in His perfect image with a purpose; why do we listen to that little voice inside saying we are not good enough? Yesterday in Pastor’s sermon, he said this, “Compare yourself with who you were yesterday, not to who someone else is today.” God loves you and will not let you stay the way you were. He continues to mold and shape you into His perfect image each day.
