May Highlights at Hope Lutheran

Sadler Means Choir

01 Jun May Highlights at Hope Lutheran

Know that the Lord, He is God! It is He who made us, and we are His; we are His people, and the sheep of His pasture. Psalm 100:3

On Wednesday, May 17 the Dorcas ladies held their annual picnic, with Pam Heine opening with a Prayer of Thanksgiving. Fried chicken was served with potato and other salads, and traditional picnic sides. Guests for the luncheon were Evelyn Buchhorn and Bill Heine.

After the luncheon, President Pam Heine called the meeting to order and read John 10:14-15 and Psalm 100:3. Pam gave the devotion for Ginger Bayer, and read Psalm 65 from the book “The Lord Is My Shepherd-Inspiration from the Book of Psalms” by Lance Wubbels.

Happy Birthday
and the Lord’s blessings to Sallie Gerharter and Pam Heine who celebrated their birthdays in May. And birthday blessings to those who will have their birthdays during the summer recess: Phyllis Griffith in June; Jo Palmer, Blandina Marx and Frances Miertschin in July, and Shirley Keller in August. We pray the Lord may bless each of you on your special day.

There was a wonderful turnout to hear the Sadler Means Girls’ Choir on May 23 in the evening. After the concert the LWML and Dorcas ladies served cookies and drinks, which were furnished by the two organizations. The meeting closed with Proverbs 1:8-9 and everyone praying The Lord’s Prayer.

We will recess for the summer and meet again September 13 at 1:00 pm in the Parish Hall. Pam Heine will give the devotion for Una Kunkel, and hostesses will be Frances Miertschin and Ginger Bayer.
