June 29—Joshua 4:1-24; Acts 9:23-43
Josh 4—“These stones will be an enduring memorial”
Acts 9– God strengthened the church, and its life was marked by reverence for the Lord.
Joshua – He did this so that all the peoples of the earth might know that the hand of the Lord is powerful and so that you might always fear the Lord your God.”
Acts – “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up.
Josh 4:23 “For the Lord your God dried up the Jordan before you until you had crossed over…”
Acts 9:31…It was strengthened; and encouraged by the Holy Spirit, it grew in numbers, living the fear of the Lord.
June 28—Joshua 3:1-17; Acts 9:1-22
Josh 3–”Tomorrow the Lord will do wonderful things about you.”
Acts 9–For three days he was blind and neither ate nor drank anything.
Joshua – Now the Jordan is at flood stage all during harvest. Yet as soon as the priests who carried the ark reached the Jordan and their feet touched the water’s edge, 16 the water from upstream stopped flowing.
Acts – “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,”
Josh 3:5 …”Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you”
Acts 9: 5 “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.”
June 27—Joshua 2:1-24; Acts 8:26-40
Josh 2–the Lord your God is God in heaven above and on earth below.
Acts 8–The eunuch never saw him again but went on his way rejoicing.
Joshua – “Our lives for your lives!” the men assured her. “If you don’t tell what we are doing, we will treat you kindly and faithfully when the Lord gives us the land.”
Acts – “How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?”
Joshua 2: 24 They said to Joshua, “The Lord has surely given the whole land into our hands; all the people are melting in fear because of us.”
Acts 8:30 “…Do you understand what your are reading?”
June 26—Joshua 1:1-18; Acts 8:1-25
Josh 1–”My servant Moses is dead. Now get ready…
Acts 8–”Turn from your wickedness!”
Joshua – Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”
Acts – “May your money perish with you, because you thought you could buy the gift of God with money!
Josh 1:5 “…I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Acts 8:8 So there was great joy in that city.
June 25—Proverbs 31:10-31; John 21:1-25
Prov 31–Strength and honor are her clothing; she is confident about the future.
John 21–”Cast your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.”
Proverbs – Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
John – It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn.
Prov 31:30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
Jn 21:17 …”Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.”
June 24—Proverbs 30:1-9, 18-33; John 20:19-31
Prov 30–All God’s words are tried and true; a shield for those who take refuge in Him.
John 20–When the disciples saw the Lord, they were filled with joy.
Proverbs – Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him.
John – “Unless I see the nail marks in his hands and put my finger where the nails were, and put my hand into his side, I will not believe.”
Prov 30:5,6 Every word of God is flawless; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar.
Jn 20: 21 Again Jesus said, “Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you.”
June 23—Proverbs 27:1-24; John 20:1-18
Prov 27–Trustworthy are the bruises if a friend; excessive are the kisses of an enemy.
John 20–Mary Magdalene left and announced to the disciples, “I’ve seen the Lord.”
Proverbs – Let someone else praise you, and not your own mouth; an outsider, and not your own lips.
John – Then Simon Peter came along behind him and went straight into the tomb.
Prov 27:2 Let another praise you, and not your own mouth: someone else , and not your own lips.
Jn 20:16 Jesus said to her, “Mary.” She turned toward him and cried out in Aramaic, “Rabboni!” (which means Teacher.)
