November 9—Jeremiah 22:1-23; Matthew 25:1-13
Jer 22–Is this what makes you a king, having more cedar than anyone else?
Matt 25–”keep alert, because you don’t know the day or hour.”
Jer: 22:21 I warned you when you felt secure, but you said, ‘I will not listen!’
This has been your way from your youth; you have not obeyed me.
Matt 25:13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.
Jer 22:3 ” …Do what is just and right. ”
Matt 25:13 “Therefore keep watch, because you do not know the day or the hour.”

November 8—Jeremiah 20:1-18; Matthew 24:29-51
Jer 20:9 his word is in my heart like a fire, a fire shut up in my bones. I am weary of holding it in; indeed, I cannot.
Matt 24:35 Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

November 7—Jeremiah 11:1-23; Matthew 24:1-28
Jer 11–The Lord named you, “A blossoming olive tree, fair and fruitful”; but with the blast of a powerful storm He will set it ablaze, until its branches are completely consumed.
Matt 24—”Because disobedience will expand, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be delivered.”
Jer 11:16 The Lord called you a thriving olive tree with fruit beautiful in form. But with the roar of a mighty storm he will set it on fire, and its branches will be broken.
Matt 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.
Jer 11:4 “…Obey me and do everything I command you, and you will be my people, and I will be your God.”
Matt 24:13 “but he who stand firm to the end will be saved.”

November 6—Jeremiah 8:18—9:12; Matthew 23:13-39
Jer 9–I’m going to refine and test them, for what else can I do with My people?
Matt 23–”First clean the inside of the cup so that the outside of the cup will be clean too.”
Jer 8:18 You who are my Comforter[a] in sorrow, my heart is faint within me.
Matt 23:23 “Woe to you, teachers of the law and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You give a tenth of your spices—mint, dill and cumin. But you have neglected the more important matters of the law—justice, mercy and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.
Jer 9:7 Therefore this is what the Lord Almighty says: “See, I will refine and test them, for what else can I do because of the sin of my people?”
Matt 23:37 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, you who kill the prophets and stone those sent to you, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing.”

November 5—Jeremiah 7:1-29; Matthew 23:1-12
Jer 7–But they didn’t listen or pay attention. They followed their willful and evil hearts and went backward rather than forward.
Matt 23—”All who lift themselves up will be brought low. But all who make themselves low will be lifted up.”
Jer 7:5 If you really change your ways and your actions
Matt 23:3 But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.
Jer 7:5-7 If you really change your ways and your actions and deal with each other justly, if you do not oppress the alien, the fatherless or the widow and do not shed innocent blood in this place, and if you do not follow other gods to your own harm, then I will let you live in this place…”
Matt 23:12 “For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”

November 4—Jeremiah 5:1-19; Matthew 22:23-46
Jer 5– They have lied about the Lord and said, “He’ll do nothing! Disaster won’t come upon us; we won’t see war or famine.”
Matt 22—Jesus responded, “You are wrong because you don’t know either the scriptures or God’s power.”
Jer. 5:3 Lord, do not your eyes look for truth?
Matt 22:32 He is not the God of the dead but of the living.”
Jer 5:1 …”If you can find but one person who deals honestly and seeks the truth, I will forgive this city.”
Matt 22:37 Jesus said, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.”

November 3—Jeremiah 3:6—4:2; Matthew 22:1-22
Jer 3–all nations will gather there to honor the Lord’s name
Matt 22–When they heard this they were astonished, and they departed.
Jeremiah 3:19 – “‘How gladly would I treat you like my children and give you a pleasant land, the most beautiful inheritance of any nation.’
Matthew 22:21 “So give back to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”
Jer 3:22 “Return, faithless people; I will cure you of backsliding.”
Matt 22:211 …Then he said to them, “Give to Caesar what is Caesar’s, and to God what is God’s.”
